We are growing and looking for a new team member to join as a

IT Administrator (m/f/x) (80–100%)

Your Role

As an IT Administrator in the Operations team, you will help us provide our employees with a secure and modern IT environment. We’re not the typical company that uses Windows and Office 365 – we prefer working with macOS, Linux, and self-hosted open-source tools. You will manage work devices, configure MDM systems, operate internal services, monitor our systems for security incidents, and evaluate new software solutions. In this way, you will make an important contribution to the further development of Threema products and thus to the effective protection of the privacy of millions of people.

Your Tasks

• Setting up, managing, and maintaining our employees’ work devices (MacBooks, mobile devices)

• Managing and further developing our MDM environment

• Operating, maintaining, and updating internal services (e.g., email, calendar, wiki, VPN)

• Providing technical support to employees for hardware and software issues

• Evaluating and introducing new software solutions for internal needs

• Monitoring internal systems for security incidents and implementing security measures

• Onboarding and offboarding employees in the IT area (accounts, devices, access rights)

• Documenting processes, systems, and configurations

Your Skills

Technical experience:

• Experience in administering macOS and Linux environments

• Knowledge of MDM solutions (e.g., Relution)

• Experience in operating containerized open-source software

• Experience with Linux, Ansible, Docker/Podman, and the command line

• Basic knowledge of network technology (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls)

• Understanding of IT security concepts (endpoint security, monitoring, incident response)

• Bonus: experience with DevOps processes and experience with Kubernetes

Your Profile

• High level of awareness when it comes to security and privacy issues

• At least seven years of professional experience

• Strong communication skills: you can explain technical issues in an understandable way

• You enjoy providing solution-oriented support to employees with IT issues

• Ability to set priorities and manage multiple issues simultaneously

• Curiosity and willingness to familiarize yourself with new technologies and tools

• Strong sense of responsibility and independent way of working

• Good written and spoken German and English
